Emerging Technology in the Classroom= 3D Printing Valeria LoyaEdu 214Assignment 8  3D Printing  The future of kids learning mathematics according to an article I found on ProQuest, is 3-D printing.  Introducing students to mathematics throughtechnologycan get students excited because they are able to understandthesubject, and it is a fun way for them to get involved and to be activeinthelesson.  An experiment was conducted at a summer camp in Texas to see the effectiveness of these 3D printing and 3D software.  The results revealed a statistically significant increaseinsome mathematical skills, motivation, and technical skills.  What is 3D Printing?  3-D printing is a manufacturing process that builds layers to create athree-dimensionalsolid object from a digital model. During the print process, the 3-D printer starts at the bottom of the design and builds up successive layers of material until the object is finished.    3D Printing Pros 1.Usingtechnologyinclassroomsis a fun way for students to get involvedinthelessons because they are able to understandthesubject. 2.Softwaressuch as graphing calculators, Geometer's Sketchpad, etransformation, and Geogebracan be used as effective technological toolsinteaching and learning, especiallyinmathematicsclassrooms. Seeing real world applications throughtheuse oftechnology also motivates students to learn.3.Addingtechnologyto any discipline can be an effective approach to teaching by enhancing students' technical skills and allowing them to apply their skills to real-life.4.Thedecreaseinthecost oftechnologyallows many schools to implementtechnologyinto curriculums, making it more accessible to a larger number of students.
